Phd Programme Induction

The function was presided by Shri Ravi Kothari, Director, Guest of Honour Mr. Mustafa Mehrim – Chief Finance officer, Dubai Cares – an NGO operating in 58 countries which works with more than 4000 schools. VC and Registrar of RU were present to grace the occasion.
The programme began with seeking the blessing of goddess Saraswati. Dr. Pramod Sharma, Registrar, RU, welcomed the scholars and called for honest, sincere and dedicated efforts. Mr. Ravi Kothari in his interaction with scholars blessed them and stressed on furthering their knowledge through research. Mr. Mehrim in his address, talked about global avenues in research and emphasished that research should go beyond the boundaries. Dr. Rajesh Dixit, VC, RU, sharing his views spoke regarding the human and societal aspect of research. He went to add that, PhD should be viewed as more than a degree. The researcher should choose a topic that adds value to the society – by and large. Dr. Gunjan Shukla shared a brief of her research experience and urged all scholars to have a positive mindset towards the challenges that a researcher faces during his/her PhD work. Dr. Deepmala Gupta presented vote of thanks.

SWAPNIL KOTHARI

Chancellor, Renaissance University

Address by Hon’ble Chancellor Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Swapnil Kothari
addressed the PhD candidates as a part of first coursework of the university. He defined PhD as “Passion, Hunger and Depth” and urged candidates to be contributory to the very cause of doing a doctoral degree and not for the sake of the degree. Towards the end the session was opened for queries by candidates.

Workshop on
A paradigm shift in research: essentials for International Referred Journals
Dr. J K Sachdeva during his session highlighted the importance of research publication. He stressed on the idea that what are international journals and what do they look forward to interms of research publication.

Workshop on
Advance Research Methods
Dr. Smriti Verma in her interactive session touched upon various aspects of research. Her focus area was on statistical testing.
She briefed candidates on which test to be used, when to be used and its interpretation.

Workshop on
Skills for Quality Research
Dr. Sushant Mishra – Dean (Research) from IIM highted the importance of quality research. Good quality research provides the base for decision making and research should be done with this end. A research should conform to the principles of professionalism, tranparency, accountability and audability.

Conference 2020
Multidisciplinary Conference on Building India – Good to Great
Dr. Ashish Pathak speaking at the inagural emphasised that through such conferences intellectual ideas can be churned on many dimensions that can be explored in making India – India of dreams. Researchers from various streams ateended and presented their contributions. These contributions were published in UGC approved journal – Shodh Sarita.

Pablo Picasso Painting Club at Renaissance University provides a platform to all the members to express their talents in the field of art which otherwise would have remained hidden. It is a community of art enthusiasts with a motive to provide each other a safe space to stay connected and listen to their art. The club has been instrumental in bringing out the creative, expressive and aesthetic potential of each student through various programmes and sessions.

William Somerset Maugham Literature Club

William Somerset Maugham was an English author and playwright. He was one of the highest-paid writers of the early to mid-twentieth century, Maugham wrote fiction, memoir, travelogues, and plays.
The Literature Club at Renaissance University Indore aims to promote all literary related domains such as short story writing, book reading, debating, poem reciting, impromptu speaking, storytelling, creative writing etc. among students. The club throughout the year designs and conducts events aimed at honing these skills.
The Literary Club has been founded to promote language and literature. Through these activities, literary coordinators (student and teacher) reach out to language and literature lovers and try to create a space for sharing ideas, emotions and thoughts. The Club is instrumental in building a community of creative, imaginative and thoughtful human beings.
